So Simply and Softly I Float
He falls in love with an open door,
A man who says good bye too many times,
He wants what he can have.
Doesn’t push,
He waits for it to disappear again
and says good bye.
____
I saw lights
obscured behind arms reaching.
I could see the light passing-
throughout and up
into a blank sky
________
The ability to grasp it all
only to see it fall away
Looking over the
fog and clouds,
the bay is shrouded.
The bridge rises and falls,
above and through
the trees
An orange light,
a separation between
the sea and the sky
_________
Everybody wants their moments
Right now this is mine
or at least these next 25 moments are
Waiting for coffee, waiting for stimulation, waiting for something
The plate is spinning, the moments run on
Fleeting feelings push
This is such a pity
these moments destroy us
__________
After the rain,
damp eucalyptus in the air,
strawberry creek
comes to life.
the trees drip a phantom
drizzle
while students carrying
moist umbrellas, books, coats
head home after a day of
quiet solitude.
________
All I can see is wasted and broken
Silvery streets and looming trees
things are left unspoken,
they slam into me.
You smoke in the park
everyone walks
they’re all still believing
they tear out your heart.
Tear into me
i let you down
spinning out of your arms
so simply and softly I float
